As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Best pre-show dinner spot in Philadelphia?
Le Poi Dog
Best post-theater drink spot in Philadelphia?
What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed in Philadelphia or the food scene over the last
There is much more media attention being paid to underrepresented cuisines. That’s a good thing.
What was the first play or concert you ever saw?
The Temptations and the Four Tops
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
The first time I ate at South Philly Barbacoa. I’ve never been so moved by a meal. This was in their old location, the one that’s now Mike’s BBQ. But I just walked into the kitchen to hug Cristina. I didn’t know her yet and I know better than to just walk into a kitchen, but it just all overcame me—the intimate setting, the flavors, the people assembled in that room, both staff and customers… She looked at me and said, “I’ll get you a cookie.” I’m still in love with that place, but there’s nothing like the first time, ey?
Thank you Ari and Musi!
